Angela Couch 6:45 – 7:00
I first met Angela about four years ago when we both had short stories published in a Christmas anthology. It was easy to see why her story won first place. Angela writes inspirational historic fiction with a keen attention to detail. She skillfully shows the excitement, adventure, and turmoil of early America. Within that setting, there are realistic characters who think, feel, and love much the same as we do today. You won’t want to miss her Hearts of War trilogy. Each page will transport you to a different time and place.
Angela and I share a few things in common, aside from the Christmas anthology. We both enjoy putting on boxing gloves and throwing jabs at a heavy bag. We both have a connection to Russian ministry. While I haven’t been there as Angela has, I experienced it through support for my husband and son who traveled there twice. And, of course, we both love writing.
We have no commonalities regarding where we call home. Angela resides in the Great White North, the northwestern side of Canada. I live and love the sunshine in southeastern USA.

Emily Conrad 7:05 – 7:20
When I first read the book, Justice, by Emily Conrad, I knew it would take a very special person to write with the depth of emotion and the biblical grace that I found in her novel. She tackled the difficult subject of rape resulting in pregnancy. Think about that. It not only impacts Brooklyn, the protagonist, but everyone surrounding her—parents, friends, church family, and Jake, the young man who loves her. With every turn of the page, I was amazed at the outpouring of wisdom and grace. I am anxious to see what comes next for this aspiring author.
Emily lives in Wisconsin with her husband and two rescue dogs. Obviously, her heart of compassion pours over into the canine world. Check out her website at https://emilyconradauthor.blogspot.com.
I’m pleased to have Emily as one of my guest hosts at my virtual release party on February 21 from 6:30 – 8:00 EST. I know you’ll enjoy talking with Emily. She will be featured from 7:05 – 7:20. Come and join the conversation for a chance to win a free copy of Justice.
Suzy Parish 7:25 – 7:40
When I first heard the title Flowers from Afghanistan, it struck me as a paradox. Flowers – beautiful, fragrant, fragile; Afghanistan – war-torn, rugged, harsh. Author Suzy Parish did an amazing job of taking readers to that unforgiving terrain and showing the humanity in the hearts of those serving there. I couldn’t put the book down.
Protagonist, Mac McCann attempts to escape his guilt and grief after the tragic death of his son. He leaves his wife, Sophie, to grieve alone. Can their healing and restoration occur when they’re half a world apart?
It’s no surprise that Flowers from Afghanistan won a bronze medal from the Military Writers Society of America and is on the longlist for the INSPY 2019 awards.
You can learn more about Suzy and her writing journey from columnist to novelist by visiting her website at https://suzyparish.com .
