As we await Christmas
Hello friends,
Are you franticly shopping and baking Christmas cookies? I managed an early start to both tasks, hoping to keep the holidays at an even pace.
I recently had the opportunity to see the Ball Brothers on their Christmas tour. It’s my third time and it never gets old. Along with their ministry of music, they bring a touch of humor and words of faith.
Christmas is a joyful time of year as we read Luke’s account of the nativity, decorate our homes, bake cookie, and wrap gifts. Our advent is the anticipation of precious time with friends and family. Those are all good things, but not the best thing. The Ball Brother’s song, It’s About the Cross, brings us to the heart of Christmas. It has become one of my favorites. If you don’t know it, here’s a link.

Many of you have asked when I’ll have a new book out. I stepped back from writing for a season to put my focus elsewhere. The funny thing is that my mind keeps writing. Perhaps that’s a good thing. Rose and Marcus are becoming very real to me and begging to be put on paper. I hope to accommodate them after the holidays. In the meantime, I hope you have had the opportunity to read Though the Mountains Be Shaken. It’s special to me because my character is diagnosed with Parkinson’s. Been there, done that. It’s available for free to readers who have Kindle Unlimited. If you don’t, the price has been kept intentionally low. You’ll find a purchase link on this website via the Books tab. And please remember those important reviews.
I love hearing from readers. Here are two comments posted to Avid Readers of Christian Fiction:
If you’re interested in learning more about Parkinson’s Disease, I recommend Though the Mountains be Shaken by Kathleen Neely. She’s a new-to-me author and I purchased the book because of the subject matter. She did not disappoint.
Thank you for recommending this. I bought it last night and started reading this morning but can’t put it down! She is a new author for me!
I wish you all a wonderful Christmas as we celebrate our Savior’s birth. Jesus left the glory of heaven to take on flesh. He came with a purpose—to carry our sin to the cross. So when you open those Christmas morning gifts, remember that the manger was the beginning of a journey to the cross. It is finished. Halleluiah.
Merry Christmas,
Kathy
